February Winter Storm

Heavy snow and high winds hit Virginia after a historic winter storm on Feb. 5-6 brought record snowfall and hazardous conditions to many parts of Virginia.

9:56 a.m. Update:

From the National Weather Service for CENTRAL and EASTERN Virginia - Light snow currently from the I-95 corridor eastward will shift east during the morning hours. Little or no accumulation is expected south of I-64, with snow amounts from 1 to 4 inches expected north of I-64. Highest amounts will be in the Northern Neck. On the Eastern Shore, snow will be heaviest in Accomack County, where up to 5 inches is possible, before the snow ends this evening. Strong winds are also anticipated in central and eastern Virginia, with gusts up to 50 mph expected. This could result in near blizzard conditions at times in the Northern Neck and Accomack County.
